Real Madrid have a number of superstars in their squad, but they also have too many players, some of whom they have to sell in order to ensure they have enough funds to sign their summer targets.
Here are six players who could be sold by the Los Blancos.
6. Nacho Fernandez
Nacho Fernandez’s name in this list might come as a surprise to many considering that he has been a versatile player for the Los Blancos since 2011 after coming through their youth system.
The Spaniard who has made 199 appearances for the club has been linked with an exit and would cost another club a region of €12m in the summer.
5. Mariano Diaz
Mariano Diaz played for the youth teams of Madrid post which he moved to Lyon where his performances impressed the club hierarchy so much that they decided to sign him back, splurging €23million for his services.
The 26-year-old has not enjoyed the confidence of the management as he has been reduced to a bit-part player at the club, making only 37 appearances for them while scoring 10 goals. It has been reported that the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and AS Roma are interested in his services come the summer.
4. Alvaro Odriozola
Loaned to Bayern Munich in January of 2020, Alvaro Odriozola made just five appearances for the Los Blancos throughout the season and it looks like his Madrid career is over as the club might look to cash in on him.
At 24, he still has age on his side and can ensure that he has a solid playing career going forward.
3. Lucas Vazquez
Another youth product who has been a solid performer for Madrid, Lucas Vazquez has been a regular presence for the Los Blancos as seen by the 201 appearances he has made in five years at the Bernabeu.
The 28-year-old recently admitted that he would love to end his career with the Spanish giants, though that not come to pass as the club might lay him off in the summer.
2. James Rodriguez
Once considered the hottest prospect in football, James Rodriguez has become the forgotten man of the sport – as he has suffered a dip in reputation and form over the past couple of years or so.
A number of top clubs are still being linked with him though nothing concrete has come out of it – however there is no doubting his talent as seen by his performances when in form.
1. Gareth Bale
For a man who has scored 105 goals in 249 appearances for Madrid, many claim that Gareth Bale has been unfairly treated by the Bernabeu faithful, considering that he has won them a number of games thanks to his exploits.
However, his injury issues have no doubt been a thorn throughout his career – something which has affected his standing in the world of football. Madrid for their part might not find any takers for him as his enormous wages ensure that not many clubs can afford to sign him.
