Portugal and Juventus ace, Cristiano Ronaldo is widely considered as one of the greatest players in the history of the sport, with the striker winning numerous professional and individual honours during his career, including five Ballon d’Or awards.
The 35-year-old is one of the most popular athletes on the planet and one of the highest paid in the world and in 2017, Football Leaks book from by Der Spiegel journalists Rafael Buschmann and Michael Wulzinger, provided insight how much Ronaldo’s services cost.
The book went on to reveal that Mobily struck a deal with Ronaldo’s Irish image rights company, Multisports & Image Management whereby they would get four-and-a-half hours of his time. The company would only get four and a half hours of the superstars time where he would do a photo-shoot, sign five shirts and two plugs across his social media channels.
This deal for half a days work saw Ronaldo through his representatives charge a staggering
£920,000, which just goes to show how expensive the player is when it comes to working with a brand.
In addition to this, the money that Ronaldo earns from his salary and various endorsements makes him without doubt one of the richest athletes in the history of the sport.
