FC Barcelona are desperate to sign Inter Milan striker Lautaro Martinez in the summer transfer window, but the Catalan outfit is struggling to meet the release clause needed, according to Sky Sports Italia (via Daily Mail).
Lautaro Martinez, who has had a prolific season with Serie A side Inter Milan, has been linked with a move to FC Barcelona as the Spanish side look set to bolster the squad this summer. However, they are struggling to put together £97m needed to trigger his release clause.
Clubs have been hit financially due to the COVID-19 outbreak that has stalled footballing activities, and that appear to have taken a toll on Barcelona.
Nonetheless, Barcelona are pondering ways to bring in the striker they desperately need, and they are willing to add players to the deal as makeweights, in a bid to lower the cash, according to Sky Sports Italia.

However, Barcelona have not yet been able to put together a proposal that convinces Inter Milan. I Nerazzurri gaffer Antonio Conte also seems to be not keen on the players Barcelona have included in the proposal.
Meanwhile, Lautaro Martinez has also attracted interests from Barcelona’s arch-rival Real Madrid, and Paris Saint-Germain. However, the current crisis will presumably make it harder for clubs to make high-profile signings in the summer transfer window.
