Portugal and Juventus superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo made his much awaited return to the training pitch on Tuesday as the Serie A champions continued their preparations for the resumption of the season.
The 35-year-old was pictured arriving at the club’s Continassa complex in his black Jeep after a 72-day absence, with the superstar spending the last 14 days in a quarantine at his home and self-isolating.
Ronaldo underwent tests at the training facility to check on his fitness and coronavirus before doing an individual workout on the pitch. The player for his part was chuffed at returning to doing what he does best and event took to social media to post a picture of himself smiling on the pitch and giving a thumbs-up.
“When we become patient and consistent, we find the way to get through the difficulties ⚽️,” he wrote.
Despite Italian clubs resuming training, there is no set date put forward by the government authorities for the restart of the league, and it will be interesting to see how the situation pans out considering that Italy has been one of the worst hit countries in Europe from the coronavirus pandemic that has led to a complete shutdown in the world of sport around the globbe.
