The playmaker’s 2019-20 season has been hindered by injuries but he has also slipped down the pecking order at the Bernabeu. With the LaLiga champions fearing they may lose the playmaker for nothing, Beckham has opened talks with them, despite no formal offers being made to either the club or player.
Despite his recent struggles for Real, Beckham considers Rodriguez – who top-scored at the 2014 World Cup – exactly the level of stardom that could catapult his new MLS side into the top tier of clubs in the division.
The Colombian has made just 13 appearances for Madrid this season since returning from his two-year Bayern Munich loan and has missed the majority of the campaign through injury. Miami have been linked with a host of big names coming to the end of their careers, notably Manchester City playmaker David Silva and Monaco’s Cesc Fabregas.
