There has always been a debate between fans and pundits on who between Barcelona talisman, Lionel Messi and Juventus superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo is the greatest to lace on a pair of boots, with the duo dominating football winning a combined 11 Ballon d’Or awards between them.
Now, a new talking point has emerged as many are debating on who is the best Ronaldo to play the sport with fans torn between choosing the Brazilian legend and the Portugal ace as the better player.

Football publication, Givemesport, recently conducted a poll asking fans to choose between the two legends and it was CR7 who came out on top, just edging out his fellow namesake after receiving 51 percent of the votes, with 15,000 fans choosing the 35-year-old.
That ‘O Fenomeno’ came so close after garnering 49 percent of the votes, goes to show just how tight the voting was, with many still undecided on who is better. What is not in doubt is that the two strikers are some of the best to ever play the sport and what might have gone in Cristiano’s favour is the recency factor and the advent of social media during his career, along with more people able to watch football in the current climate.
