Former Inter president and owner Massimo Moratti admitted that Lionel Messi ‘isn’t leaving Barcelona’ but also that Lautaro Martinez will find ‘it hard to say no’ to the Catalans. Messi has been linked to Inter since Moratti said the record six-time Ballon d’Or winner joining the Serie A club was not a “forbidden dream”.
Moratti has long campaigned for Messi’s arrival at Inter, but he now admits there is no chance of him moving away from Barca.
“He’s everyone’s waking dream,” the former Nerazzurri owner told Gr Parlamento (h/t SempreInter). “Even today he’s the best in the world, but he isn’t leaving Barcelona.”

The 75-year-old went on to discuss the transfer market and spoke about Lautaro Martinez, who continues to be linked with a move to Barcelona.
“It will all depend on him,” he added. “I read that Barcelona are making exorbitant offers for him which will be difficult to say no to. Sandro Tonali is good but Inter already have Stefano Sensi.”
Also linked to Spanish giants Real Madrid and Premier League powerhouse Manchester City, Martinez had scored 16 goals in 31 games across all competitions before the coronavirus pandemic brought sport to a standstill.
“What he does makes you want to sign him but Inter already have Romelu Lukaku,” he said.
