The debate as to who is the greatest player in the history of the sport is an ever present one with a number of former players and managers either choosing between Barcelona icon, Lionel Messi and Juventus superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo.
According to former Real Madrid and current Tottenham Hotspur manager, Jose Mourinho though, Brazil legend, Ronaldo takes the top spot as the best he has ever seen purely due to his talent and ability on the pitch.
“Cristiano y Messi tuvieron carreras más largas, se mantuvieron en la cima todos los días durante 15 años. Pero si hablamos estrictamente de talento y habilidad, nadie supera al brasileño Ronaldo”, Mou pic.twitter.com/rwQbEFlNcy

Mourinho was present at Barcelona as a translator for Bobby Robson when Ronaldo was banging in goals for fun and despite the striker staying at the Nou Camp for only one season, he left an incredible mark during his time in Spain.
“I will stay with another ‘Ronaldo, “El Fenomino”. Cristiano and Leo Messi had longer races, they stayed on top every day for 15 years. But if we talk strictly about talent and ability , nobody beats the Brazilian,” he said as quoted by Metro
“When I was in Barcelona with Bobby Robson, I realised that he was the best player I had ever seen in my life. ‘The injuries killed a career that could have been even more incredible , but the talent that the 19-year-old had was something incredible.”
Ronaldo terrorised defences in Spain, netting a staggering 47 goals in just 49 games post which he was sold to Inter Milan for a then world record transfer fee.
