The future of on-loan Paris Saint-Germain striker, Mauro Icardi is fast turning into one of the subplots going into the summer, with Gazzetta Dello Sport claiming that the Argentinian could move to Juventus, with Gonzalo Higuain heading to Paris in the other direction.
Icardi who is on loan at Paris from Inter Milan for the season has a €70million buyout clause, with PSG understood to be keen to activate as they look to secure his services as a long-term replacement for Edinson Cavani.
However, Juventus could scupper their plans as the Bianconeri are said to hold an interest themselves in luring the striker to Turin and are willing to offer Higuain as part of the deal. They are said to be interested in adding more players into the negotiations too, with Alex Sandro and Miralem Pjanic among those included in the deal, which they believe would help turn around PSG’s heads and ensure that they land Icardi.
The 27-year-old is without a doubt one of the best strikers going around and has been impressive for PSG in his debut season, scoring 20 goals in 31 games in all competitions so far. It will be interesting to see where Icardi eventually ends up in the summer considering that clubs may not be able to afford him following the financial implications of coronavirus or COVID-19.
