Barcelona talisman, Lionel Messi and Juventus superstar, Cristiano Ronaldo are widely considered as the two greatest footballers to play the sport, with the duo dominating the sport for more than a decade as seen by them winning a combined 11 Ballon d’Or awards between them.
There has been talk of a fierce rivalry between the two players, but the Argentinian has brushed aside such suggestions going on to hail the Portugese skipper while also confirming that he would pass the ball to him if they ever played on the same team.
“Normal to keep scoring, he is a predatory striker, he loves to score, any day he plays he will score. He has many good things as a striker and at the minimum he converts,” and when asked if he would pass the ball to Ronaldo if they played together, he said, “I guess so, in the end yes.”
Ronaldo for his part too brushed aside suggestions that the duo do not share a good relationship off the pitch, revealing that while they might not have had dinner together, they are friends.
“We have shared the stage 15 years. I don’t know if that’s happened before — the same two guys on the same stage all the time.
Of course, we have a good relationship. We haven’t had dinner together yet, but I hope in the future.
We had that battle in Spain. I pushed him and he pushed me as well. So it’s good to be part of the history of football,” he said ahead of the Champions League draw last August.
