Barcelona left-back, Jordi Alba has opened up on the influence of club talisman, Lionel Messi not only on the pitch but also in training, claiming that, the strikers enthusiasm in training is “contagious” and that it inspires his team-mates.
The Catalan giants returned to full training on Monday for the first time in months as they prepare for their first game following the resumption of the league, with their game scheduled for June 13, when they will take on Real Malllorca.
Alba has confirmed that the whole team along with Messi are feeling refreshed and are ready to go as they look to defend their LaLiga title.
“I’ve seen the team with a lot of desire.
I think we’ve come back very well physically and mentally we’re in a better place than when we left.
[Messi] is a vital player of us and we should enjoy having him all the time. Seeing Leo with the enthusiasm he’s come back with is contagious for the rest of the group,” he said as quoted by Barca Blaugranes.
The Catalan giants were on top of the table before the league was suspended due to the coronavirus pandemic, though rivals, Real Madrid will have something to say about that considering that they are only two points behind them in the table.
