Manchester United are reportedly ready to reignite their interest in Napoli defender, Kalidou Koulibaly after learning of their rivals, Liverpool’s interest in the centre-back, with it being understood that he could be available for a cheaper price in the summer transfer window.
United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was tipped to sign the Senegal international last summer, only for the club management to eventually prioritise then Leicester City defender, Harry Maguire for whom they forked out a staggering £80million transfer fee.

With news emerging that Liverpool have expressed an interest in landing the defender, Gazetta dello Sport now claims that United are ready to reignite their interest in signing him, considering that they were willing to spend £89m and make him the most expensive defender in the world.
This time around, though, Napoli could sell for less., with it being suggested United could even by able to sign Koulibaly by paying in the region of £62m, which would still be a big fee due to the financial impact caused the coronavirus or COVID-19 outbreak.
Widely considered as one of the best defenders in the world, the 28-year-old has so far made 233 appearances for Napoli, and has won only one trophy of note for the Italians so far.
