The Red Devils have been heavily linked with a move for the Englishman as he is expected to leave Germany and return to England this summer.
United won’t be the only team interested in the 20-year-old, which is why they are reportedly said to have a backup plan in place. According to the Athletic, the Red Devils are considering meeting Ferran Torres’ €100 million release clause if they can’t get Sancho.
The Valencia winger has been impressive in Spain and has also attracted the interest of some of the biggest clubs in Europe. His contract ends in 2021, which makes it a pretty feasible time to sign him.
That is why, it is expected that there will be immense competition for Torres as he will be available for a lot cheaper than Sancho.
Juventus have also been linked with a move for the La Liga starlet and the Italian giants aren’t the only ones as Dortmund themselves could even try to sign Torres as a replacement for Sancho.
However, Dortmund’s approach or movement with regards to signing Torres would only depend on Sancho’s departure from the club.
