Former Chelsea striker, Demba Ba has opened up on Liverpool legend, Steven Gerrard’s now infamous slip against the Blues in the Premier League, revealing that, “the former England international would be still haunted by it”.
Liverpool went into game against Chelsea in the 2013/14 season needing only seven points from their final three games in order to secure their maiden league title, but it was not a night to remember for Gerrard who slipped during the clash, allowing Ba to run through and score the goal which effectively ended their title aspirations.
The loss on the night to the Blues, coupled with Manchester City winning their final five games saw the Reds lose the chance to win the title, which also meant that Gerrard eventually finished his glorious career without a league medal to his name.

“I think it must be difficult to live with.
You know if I put myself in his shoes, which I really didn’t up until now, but it must be terrible for a player that played so long for one team and that has played so great for one team, basically losing a title on a mistake that he has done,” he said as per Metro.
“Of course (I have) a degree of sympathy, yeah maybe. I’m not really thinking about it too much.”
Despite this slip, there is no doubt that Gerrard will go down as one of the greatest to play in England with the 39-year-old spending his entire career at Anfield, making 710 appearances and leading them to nine trophies.
