Spanish giants Real Madrid have reportedly entered the race for Arsenal striker Aubameyang in the summer transfer window, according to a report in Spanish news outlet Sport [via talkSport].

The Gabon international has been impressive for the north London outfit. Nonetheless, there is uncertainty looming over his future at the club. He has been rumoured to have attracted the interests of a host of top European clubs.

Meanwhile, Los Merengues are reportedly interested in signing a player in the summer to partner Karim Benzema upfront. They seem to be ready to make the most of the situation by luring the 30-year-old to the Spanish capital.

The attacker has only one year left in his contract and Sport claim that Madrid believe they have a good opportunity to sign the player for a figure around €50million in the summer.

Real Madrid have been linked with moves for several top players in the summer transfer window, but COVID-19 may have hit clubs financially, and there appear doubts on whether high-profile signings could be made in the summer.

Los Blancos currently sit two points behind FC Barcelona in the La Liga points table. In the UEFA Champions League, they trail behind Manchester City by one goal and have to mount the deficit in the second-leg. Both tournaments, among many others, have been postponed in a bid to contain the virus outbreak.
